Maintaining Your Balance

Laura Saleem, a board certified physical therapist at Medical Center of McKinney, will discuss how to “Maintain Your Balance” at a seminar on Wednesday, May 22^nd from noon to 1 p.m. at Medical Center of McKinney, 4500 Medical Center Drive, Classroom 3-4.

Staying active is critical to sustaining health and well-being. Learn how to improve your balance and prevent falls. Falls in older adults are often associated with life-changing consequences such as hip fractures and head injuries, and can lead to reduced physical activity and quality of life.

Prepared Childbirth (Class 1 of 3)

The Prepared Childbirth classes are a comprehensive look at labor and delivery in addition to early postpartum weeks. This class is designed for those who are having their first child or have not taken a class within four years. Breathing and relaxation are covered in addition to pain management techniques. Hospital procedures and Cesarean births are also addressed, as well as instruction in infant CPR.

The last class of the 3-session series closes with a tour of Medical Center of McKinney’s labor and delivery suites, postpartum and an overview of the newborn nursery an Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit nursery for premature babies. When enrolling, please indicate expected delivery date with registration.

This class is 2 hours per session.
